Big Living Room Reveal!!

It's finally here! I am finally finished, as much as you can call something that keeps changing finished, with my living room and dining room. I can't wait to show you.

This time, I'm just going to let the pictures do most of the talking.

First I'd like to show you a few 'before' pictures:

So, HERE it IS!!! My new living room:

Please excuse the eyesore of a back porch! I know you wouldn't want to wait for that, would you?

Can anyone tell I LOVE Pier1 Imports? The stars were from Pier One on clearance, the big fluffy pillow was from Pier 1 as a Christmas present from Josh, and so was the black fruit bowl with the decorative balls. I need a few more. Maybe it's time to go shopping? Anyone want to go to Pier 1 with me??

I made the rustic hutch I found for $100 the focal point of my living room. I absolutely love how it turned out!

My favorite homemade treasures are now in the living room.

An heirloom quilt and red afghan from Josh's side of the family now hang in the corner, waiting to be used in cooler seasons.

And a mysterious conversation starter sits atop my tv hutch.

My dining room adjoins to the living room, so I decided to keep the Western theme in both spaces.

Notice the lovely desert painting. The previous owner was an amazing artist and left a lot of her paintings with the house when she moved to a nursing home. I adore them and hung as many as I could fit so that the humid garage wouldn't ruin them further. As my home comes along, I hope to find the perfect place for the rest as I have with these. (The ones in frames were inside the house and are in good shape, but the ones without were found in the garage--many of which, sadly, had to be thrown out because of mildew).

So...what do you think? Do you like it? What sort of window treatments should I aim for? Should I put a rug in?

    1. I love that stuff. I mean who has all this great taste that they can find the most amazing stuff and put it all in one store? Not tempting...no not one bit.
